The ONFIRE ESR Fabiano Locatelli will give a talk within the CTTC weekly seminar series on the 16th January at 10h at CTTC Auditorium. The talk will present a brief overview over low margin optical networks, optical performance monitoring techniques and disaggregated optical networks. About the low margin optical networks, an explanation of their principle together with a description of the techniques currently adopted to improve them, will be given. Regarding the OSNR monitoring techniques, their physical fundamentals will be detailed along with their possible limitations and the eventual methods to overcome these constrains. Finally, the disaggregated networks paradigm will be presented and the white boxes model will be introduced. More information is available here.
